CALL FOR WRITERS FOR OUR LITERARY WALK

The Stories Found Here project is seeking original written works for a community literary trail during the Sauk Centre Festival of the Arts.

Throughout the festival, selected pieces will be displayed throughout Sinclair Lewis Park, inviting visitors to slow down, wander and encounter stories in unexpected places.

We're looking for writing inspired by place, memory, community and the moments that stay with us. The stories we inherit. The stories we tell. The stories that could only happen in a small town.

Submissions may include:

• Poetry

• Flash fiction

• Creative nonfiction

• Lyrical prose

Works should be original and approximately 100–300 words.

Writers of all experience levels are encouraged to submit. Whether you've been publishing for years or have never shared your work beyond family and friends, your voice is welcome.

A selection of submitted works will become part of the Stories Found Here literary trail, displayed throughout Sinclair Lewis Park during the festival for visitors to discover as they wander.

Selected writers will also be invited to participate in a community reading during the festival, sharing their work with friends, neighbors and visitors beneath the trees in Sinclair Lewis Park. The reading will celebrate the voices that make our community unique and offer an opportunity for writers to connect with one another and with readers.

Our hope is to create a trail of stories that invites people to slow down, reflect and perhaps recognize a piece of themselves in someone else's words.
