Where is the festival located?
The Sauk Centre Festival of the Arts takes place along Park Road and throughout Sinclair Lewis Park in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Dates: August 29–30, 2026
Hours: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Artist vendors will be set up throughout the park selling their handmade work, while our chalk artists create large-scale works of art live on the pavement. Visitors are welcome to walk through the festival and watch the artwork come to life throughout the day.
Parking is available in several nearby public lots:
• Sinclair Lewis Park lot
• City Administration lot
• The Sinclair Lot near Sinclair Lewis Avenue and Oak Street
All are just a short walk from the festival. Street parking is also available throughout the surrounding neighborhood. To avoid being towed, please do not park in alleys or behind businesses or block residential driveways.
Is there an admission fee?
No. The Sauk Centre Festival of the Arts is free and open to the public.
What happens if it rains?
The festival takes place rain or shine.
If severe weather requires changes or cancellation, updates will be posted on our website, Facebook, and Instagram pages.
Can I take photos of the artwork?
Absolutely! We encourage visitors to photograph the chalk art.
Many chalk pieces will include interactive 3D elements, allowing you to step into the scene once the artwork is finished.
Each artist’s social media information will be displayed next to their artwork and on our website, so please tag the artist and the festival when sharing your photos. @scfestivalarts
Artist Vendors have their own wishes regarding their artwork - please ask each vendor before photographing their artwork.
Can I tip the chalk artists?
Yes! Our chalk artists work for hours creating their incredible pieces, and tips and donations are greatly appreciated.
Each artist square will have a tip jar and/or QR code where you can support them directly. All donations go straight to the artists.
What kinds of artists will be there?
The festival features handmade work from regional artists across the Midwest, including:

Will there be food available?
Yes! A variety of food trucks and local vendors will be on site throughout the festival.
Is the festival family friendly?
Absolutely. The festival is designed for all ages and includes interactive art, live demonstrations, music, and activities throughout the park.
Well-behaved pets on a leash are welcome in the park. Please be mindful of the artwork and crowded areas. Don't forget doggie bags!
Yes. Public restrooms are available in Sinclair Lewis Park.
