I am a native Chicagoan who now calls Sauk Centre home. As a landscape artist working in acrylic, oil, and color pencil, I like to bring people to a specific place and time. My husband and I are avid travelers and photographers. These photos serve as references for much of my work. When possible, I take time for plein aire painting or drawing. My award-winning work has been displayed in galleries in Minnesota and Illinois and I have been featured in Color Pencil Magazine. My art is owned by collectors across the country. I serve on the board for the 510 Art Lab in Sauk Centre and Artify Sauk Centre, and am a member of the Alexandria Art Guild and Outdoor Painters of Minnesota.

As an artist it is hard to pin down one type of style I love. My art changes with my moods and my inspiration with my dreams and stories. Some days I’m anxious and some days happy. You can see it in the colors of the photograph, and the strokes of my brush on the canvas. Growing up I was inspired by the creativity and amazing imagination of Salvador Dali, and the beautiful colors and strokes of Georgia O’Keeffe. I am amazed at the talent and colors of street art and love amazing portrait style of Annie Leibovitz. So here I am smack dab in the middle of all that, trying to get my mangled emotions and own creative process down as it comes to me. When I have a spare moment!

I draw from my skills, old and new, as a macramé artist. I was introduced to the fiber art in the mid-1970’s in HomeEc class, and rediscovered my love for it 6 years ago. Last year I added 3D Sculpture to the things I love to create. Growing up in Pasadena, California, my parents helped me further my art at a very young age. While in grade school, my mom would take me to an Asian art center to take classes. In high school, I majored in art and was given an art scholarship in 1972. I continued to study art at Pasadena City College and then worked for the art department, mostly for the photography department. The last schooling I had was at LA Trade Tech, taking fashion design and illustration.
I started making belts and hats in Los Angeles and then started my own jewelry line. Next I opened a tea room/vintage clothing boutique where I sold my jewelry. I’m still having fun making jewelry and doing fabric art. Other passions of mine are watercolor and plein aire painting.

The wood I work with has already lived a life. Pulled from barns that stood for a century or more, each board carries the marks of everything it has been through: the nail holes, the weathering, the grain worn down by decades of hard seasons. I don't sand those things away. They are part of the story. My work is large-format geometric wall art, built by hand from reclaimed barnwood, shaped into mountains, landscapes, and layered forms that feel both grounded and reaching. A lot of what I make is rooted in my own experience with recovery and resilience. I build things that carry weight because the people who hang them often do too.
Lacey brings that same intentionality to the fragrance side of EarthTōn & Co. Every candle is hand-poured using coconut soy wax, set in a matte black vessel with a crackling wood wick. The scent names are not just labels. They are small anchors, words that invite you to slow down or hold onto something worth remembering.

A near-perfect piece of pottery speaks to multiple senses and reaches the visitor with the expressive impressions of nature through an imperfect form. When my hands are given the opportunity to create, my subconscious is free to speak with images, shapes, and textures. My clay expresses my deep connection to Earth and its incredible forms. My pottery lends itself to a deeper user experience of pattern, texture, weight, and color. A mug is more than a vessel; it is a chance for a calming texture, a view reminiscent of waves lapping the shore, a warm cuddle, or a handle that feels like it belongs only to you. I find myself focused on using mid-fire Continental Clay bodies and Mayco glazes, fired to cone 6. I have enjoyed experimenting with liners and flux, and look forward to continuing to explore. I love to create the effect of flow as evidence of the once-liquid nature of glazes in the firing process, and I prefer creating functional pieces like mugs and bowls utilizing wheel throwing and hand-building.

Hi, I’m Samantha, but everyone calls me “Sam”.
I want to share a bit about myself and why I named my jewelry line NotesNBling.
“Notes” because I’ve been a singer/songwriter for a few years now. As a child, I “composed” melodies on any piano I was allowed to play on when my parents visited their friends who happened to have one. In school I sang (well, I tried), played the recorder, and checked out a variety of instruments. None ever fascinated me as much as the guitar! Only as an adult (in my 40’s) did I finally get one, taught myself to play, and began writing songs that many now have come to love. Thus, music became real to me only later in life. Initially, I began singing in church choirs and praise teams before feeling the nudge to get out of the church walls and love on people with my own songs. Initially, I sang with tracks and later, once I had my guitar, developed my “Organic Folk” style I sing and play now. The “Bling” was added to my music travels and concert merchandise table a few years later. Leaving Texas in 2006 and moving to Minnesota took me to a lot of travel out of state. In 2010, Houston called, and several concerts were booked! Since everyone already had my CD’s and a 3rd recording was the only one pending, I needed a way to support those concert trips. So I began making simple little glass bead bracelets on stretch cord, hoping to sell my creations. I would have never imagined that EVERY SINGLE BRACELET SOLD at the first concert night! So more had to be made for the rest of the tour and were also sold quickly. With this, I have found a new artistic expression… jewelry making!!
Initially, my designs were only sold at concerts, but in 2018 it grew so much it became a business!
From those simple bracelets, my designs bloomed as I’ve learned new techniques over the years, incorporating repurposed vintage jewelry, creating Southwest designs, a lil bit of European flair, and a lot of boho too! Czech beads are my love language, with all those gorgeous precious beads. There’s fun beach glass and precious stones as well. Leather knotting, wire forming, wire wrapping, and hammering techniques have turned my jewelry into a step above!

We are a small family team working together to see what we can create. Patrick first designs our flags on his computer then makes the program for our CNC to cut them our. He runs the machine changing the bits when needed for the design and makes sure the machine is following his plan. Once finished they are hand sanded, hand stained and colored then 4 coats of shellac is applied. Once they are dried we put a hanger on the back and stand offs.
